Our plan over the next week is to also finalize the remaining additional core features that will include items such as print flyer as PDF, compare properties, forcing registration options, listing alerts via email etc.

Final note: 
We hope to be releasing screenshots of the new Google maps search within the next two weeks and the beta release within the next 20 to 30 days.

With this latest release we have fixed a several bugs that were related to the new file path structure that we implemented in the previous release.  In addition to that we have included some enhancements and features that were requested by the current developer licensed clients (and we appreciate all of the feedback).

Also as of this release any following updates will be done with simple update patch files so that you only need to download and overwrite a small handful of files.

How-To-Upgrade:
First of all make a backup of both your files and your db.
It is recommended that you do a complete delete/install if at all possible to make sure that you are using 100% of the new code only.
Otherwise – as in the last release I would only copy out the RETS portions and re apply the listings portion of the db and the cached /wprets/template_c/

Please download and give this one a try – and then report your bugs (if any) to the forums.

What’s Next:

This week we are going to finalize a couple of tweaks to the RETS module to be able to work with RETS servers that include listing photos “urls” such as in CARETS (California) and a couple of others default listing templates for search results and listing details so that there are at least 2 choices to start with. In addition to that we are thoroughly going to go through the code looking for Developer options needed for enhancing the templates by providing “conditionals” with snippet examples.

Final Note:
Our programmers are already working on the “Google Maps Search Module” so look for that modules beta release before the end of the month as well as some additional default features that were already on the list.

We are getting very close to finishing up … We have got the SVN setup and now all of us are working on it at the same time to get these final tweaks applied without overwriting each others code – Yea!

We are getting very close to finishing up enough of the remaining bugs to make another beta release (24-48 hrs) and then we will probably be ready to go forward with the next step and that will be RC v.1 (RC target date – Monday -27)

Everyone has agreed to work through the weekend to get this to a RC (release candidate) version by Monday.

We are starting with the release of both our beta plugin and beta rets module – both seem to be ready to begin the final bug hunt.

Bugs reported to the forums will be fixed every 24 to 72 hrs, depending on how many and or complicated they are. We have 3 of the most talented programmers working with us so bug fixes are not going to be a problem for us since two of them actually wrote the entire database and core code from scratch.

I am making videos and documentation for all of this – So in the mean time –Please – “Let’s use the Forums”.

Last of all – I want to send out a special THANKS to our programmers that have bent over backwards to help bring this project to delivery. We have enjoyed working with all of them and we look forward to doing many more projects with these guys.

List of the options and features in the alpha version that we are currently … I’ve decided to let everyone in on where we are with our new 3.0 project so that everyone knows what to expect with our first release.

7. New shortcodes for all new customizable templates = more seo options.
8. All of the latest common libraries that make it easier for developers.

10. All New template tags structure makes it super easy to customize.
11. There are several other items and features I’m sure I’m over looking but that’s the top 10 that popped into my head.

We are also working on our new 3.0 now with a whole new team of programmers in order to try and get a production ready product within 90 days. I’ve built out a ton of new requirements for the 3.0 team to knock out so check back often for more screen shots as we get further along.

Most of January will be spent overseeing the new 3.0 development as well as completing a long list of clients projects. We also plan on having a new “master” MLS system developed along with a new MLS API and a RETS importer script so that we can offer Developers a decent RETS import script to map in the listing fields into our new mysql tables. I like VieleRETS but its just not all that great and so we’ve decided to make some serious changes and by combining a couple of other ideas we think we’ve come up with something much better.
