I think that once the search form builder has been overhauled to allow for a nice tabbed layout based on class names, similar to what you see in some of our portfolio sites, we’ll finally be able to call the core project “done”. We have upgraded the “Beta” version now to “RC” (release candidate).
What this means is that we are very near something that we consider being “stable” … WPR3x RC v1.0 – 3.0 has just been released and is available for download.

What this means is that we are very near something that we consider being “stable” enough to be released as a “project ready” version.

With this latest release we have fixed a several bugs that were related to the new file path structure that we implemented in the previous release.  In addition to that we have included some enhancements and features that were requested by the current developer licensed clients (and we appreciate all of the feedback).

Also as of this release any following updates will be done with simple update patch files so that you only need to download and overwrite a small handful of files.

How-To-Upgrade:
First of all make a backup of both your files and your db.
It is recommended that you do a complete delete/install if at all possible to make sure that you are using 100% of the new code only.
Otherwise – as in the last release I would only copy out the RETS portions and re apply the listings portion of the db and the cached /wprets/template_c/

Please download and give this one a try – and then report your bugs (if any) to the forums.

What’s Next:

This week we are going to finalize a couple of tweaks to the RETS module to be able to work with RETS servers that include listing photos “urls” such as in CARETS (California) and a couple of others default listing templates for search results and listing details so that there are at least 2 choices to start with. In addition to that we are thoroughly going to go through the code looking for Developer options needed for enhancing the templates by providing “conditionals” with snippet examples.

Final Note:
Our programmers are already working on the “Google Maps Search Module” so look for that modules beta release before the end of the month as well as some additional default features that were already on the list.

Once I’m done and satisfied that everything is installing properly then I will release this for … Just a quick update to let everyone know that the latest version is in my hands and being tested right now for proper install.

Everyone has agreed to work through the weekend to get this to a RC (release candidate) version by Monday.

I … Chad Broussard is my name and I am the person who is ultimately responsible for running the WP Realty website and taking care of all of the trouble tickets as well as answering the phone from 9 to 5.

I am also the person who has to have the “vision and knowledge” to guide our programmers to develop WP Realty the way I think it needs to be built.  However there are times that I’m not the most “available” person to get a hold of due to the fact that there are many nights of staying up until after 3:am and just being burned out due to working 14 to 16 hours a day – 7 days a week. That’s why I’m writing this post today to let everyone know that, now that WPR3x is nearly done, I will be more available to interact with the general day to day task that have gone neglected over these last few months.

My personal goal this year is to put out the best possible real estate solution and then personally support and stand behind the product and run the business side of the project and hire new employees to help with VIP services and client projects.  We are currently looking to hire at least 2 new people to start working sometime in March. I will be posting the position requirements on our site later next week.

February – We want to simply get the core 100% done and … Now that we have released the beta 3x it is time to lay out the road map of where we are and where we are going with this.

February – We want to simply get the core 100% done and debugged with all of the basic features and here is the list:

1. The core 100% done and bug free.
2. Build out complete new set of default wpr3x listing templates.
3. Release a New WPR3x Real Estate Theme.

March/April – Sometime in March we will want to release some new beta Modules and new Core Features.

1. We already have WPRETS Module – done.
2. New Map Search Module – Already being developed.
3. New CRM Module – Already being developed.
4. New Core features – Live chat, Web SEO Stats, Google Doc’s, Google Calendar, File Manger.
